The microcircuit is available in an 81-pin TFBGA package with dimensions of 5 x 5 mm. In addition to size, the BGM220 is distinguished by its very low power consumption. Thus, the novelty is well suited for use in mobile electronics – PDAs, communicators, smartphones, game consoles.

BGM220 is a development of the previous solution known as BGW211. The new microcircuit implements support for 802.11b / g, as well as the ability to use Bluetooth and WLAN at the same time. BGM220 includes everything you need to build a wireless network connection, including RF circuits and a media access control unit. To interface with the host, the new product has an SDIO / SPI interface. Compatible with WPA2 and WMM. The delivery set includes drivers for the main operating systems: Windows Mobile, Windows CE, Symbian and Linux.

BGM220 preview samples should be available in the current quarter, with serial production starting in the fourth quarter of 2021.
