NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT has BIOS issues?
Recently, unofficial information appeared on the Web that NVIDIA faced some problems with the GeForce 8600 GT graphics adapter, which should be released in mid-April along with the 8600 GTS and 8500 GT.
It is reported that the error “crept” into the BIOS of the new product, and therefore the problem is not fatal and will not cause a delay in the release of the GeForce 8600 GT. According to the same source, BIOS 8600 GTS has no errors.
NVIDIA has recently encountered similar troubles twice – in the spring of 2021, some owners complained about the GeForce 7900 GTX freezing, and in November they had to recall part of the GeForce 880 GTX a few days before the start of sales. The problem with the GeForce 8600 GT is nothing like the previous cases, but the fact that the NVIDIA OTC was able to detect it this time before the start of mass deliveries is encouraging.
Recall that the GeForce 8600 series will be a preemptive strike against AMD / ATI RV630 due out in May.
