Official specifications of Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 and E6400 processors with L2 stepping published
The Intel website has information about new versions of the E6300 and E6400 processors built on the Allendale core (L2 stepping).
The main difference from similar B2 stepping models is the narrowing of the allowable voltage range used to power the core. New processors are rated for 1.225-1.325V. In addition, L2 stepping processors do not have a built-in thermal diode. Recall that processors E6300 and E6400 with B2 stepping had thermal diodes, and the core supply voltage could be selected within 0.85-1.3525 V.
In terms of marking, the E6X00 L2 and B2 microprocessors differ in the external designation (sSpec) and the CPUIDString. For E6300 processors these are combinations of SL9TA and 06F2h (L2), SL9SA and 06F6h (B2), and for E6400 processors – SL9T9 and 06F2h (L2), SL9S9 and 06F6h (B2), respectively. However, as in the case of other L2 stepping models, a characteristic external feature is a more laconic “pattern” formed by elements located on the surface of the product.
